Mrs. Wykert's kindergarten class was fooled not once but three times this April Fool's Day! First, our morning message was written backward. After a lot of confusion, they figured out it was a trick. A few of them were able to read some of the backward words! Next, we enjoyed some delicious "brown E's" from Mrs. Smith. Not to worry, they were compensated with a real treat. Finally, we did a following directions activity that had them wondering if their teacher was going crazy! What a fun day!

Tonight's Co-Ed Track Meet at Wapello, scheduled for 4:30 p.m., has been canceled due to technical difficulties. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Congratulations to Will Parsons, Holden Helmig, Jordan Chamberlin, and Alex Kisner, who competed today at the JA Titan Challenge in Muscatine, and finished 5th out of 14 teams. It was WHS's first time particiating in this event, and the students did great! Way to represent, young people! #weareWapello #WapelloTribePride

Wear BLUE on Wednesday for Autism Awareness Day!

Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) begins tomorrow at the secondary building. Students in grades 6-11 will begin testing at 8:10 am Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday (grades 8 & 10 only).
It is important that students get a good night's sleep, eat a healthy breakfast, arrive to school on time, and bring their charged Chromebook each day. Students have set goals and talked about the importance of giving their best effort on these tests.
Seniors will not need to report to school until 9:40 am each day. This would be a perfect time for seniors to work on scholarships.
If you have any questions related to ISASP testing, please email Mrs. Salazar at shannon.salazar@wapellocsd.org.

Last week in kindergarten, Tinley brought her baby chicks in to share with us, we practiced for our music program (which turned out to be amazing!), and we used chalk pastels in art. We also had a special guest from Great Prairie AEA. Literacy Consultant Mrs. Kara Veach helped us strengthen our knowledge of double consonant spellings.
