Two HS students, Kiara Hirst (pictured) and Rylan Moore spent all day Thursday at Iowa State University participating in the Annual "Girls Go Further! Women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Day at ISU. The girls heard a keynote speech in the morning and then attended two hands-on workshops before enjoying a catered lunch and then playing a large group science trivia game. After lunch, they participated in two more workshops before hearing a final keynote address. Leaving school at 5:30 in the morning made for a very early start to their day, but when asked about the early departure time, both girls said "It was totally worth it!" They were challenged and inspired by what they experienced, and the conversation on the ride home confirmed to Mrs. Dunham that the long day had indeed been time well spent. Way to Go Further, Girls! We look forward to great things from you in the future! #WeAreWapello #WapelloTribePride
