Ellee Gillette is a graduating senior who has this advice for underclassmen, “Find that one aspect of yourself that makes you unique and roll with it. Colleges, Scholarships, and Jobs look for people who stand out. Bring something new to the table.” Ellee is the daughter of Mark and Suzanne Gillette. She has participated in several activities including: volleyball, track, football cheerleading, art club, and National Honor Society. She is also a four year member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Mrs. Marshall is a teacher who Ellee “admire[s] Mrs. Marshall because she is not only sweet and caring, but insanely smart as well. I could bring any math related question to her and she would make it her one mission to figure out how to complete it.” After high school, Ellee plans to attend the University of Iowa on the pre-law track before entering the university’s College of Law. Good Luck, Ellee!

The last four years at Wapello High School for Emmalee Lanz have taught her many lessons - the lesson she would pass down to the underclassmen would be to “Prioritize. Manage your time wisely so you aren't stressed during the fun times.” Emmalee has been involved in several activities such as FCCLA, Student Council, and National Honor Society. Emmalee says that the most influential teacher in her education is Mrs. Marshall because she, “has always had a happy and positive mindset, and as a student that is something I have always appreciated. This last semester I took a college math class, and she never once hesitated to help me. Always going out of her way to make sure I understood everything. Mrs. Marshall has not only been a teacher these last four years, but a friend.” Emmalee is the daughter of Regan and Tricia Lanz. After graduation, Emmallee plans to enter the Dental Hygiene program at Indian Hills Community College. Best wishes, Emmalee!

Brendan is the son of Wayne and Cathy McIntyre. While attending WHS, Brendan was involved in band and FCA for four years, cross country for three years, NHS for two years, and golf and M-PowerU for one year. After graduation, Brendan plans to attend Indian Hills Community College to study to become a Physical Therapy Assistant. Brendan states Ms. Bostian and Mrs. Marshall as having a positive impact on his time in high school because they always make sure no one is left behind in their classes. They are both super nice and he is never afraid to ask questions. Brendan also really likes how he can have a normal conversation with both of them and can always count on them to brighten his day! Brendan leaves this advice to the underclassmen at WHS: “DON’T PROCRASTINATE!” We wish you the best, Brendan!

Alli is the daughter of Kim Brotherton and Joe Brotherton. Alli was very active while in high school, participating in football cheerleading, soccer, choir, volleyball, track, pom squad. Alli was also a member of M-Power U, National Honor Society, and FCA. Alli’s future plans are to attend Drake University while studying Environmental Science with a concentration in zoo and conservation science. She will also be minoring in Biology. Mrs. Marshall had the biggest influence on Alli in high school, because she is not only an amazing teacher but also an amazing person in general. Mrs. Marshall is always encouraging her students to be the best they can be and Alli knew that if she ever needed anything, she could always talk to her about it. Alli’s advice to underclassmen is, “Don’t procrastinate, it will only cause you more stress.” Good luck, Alli!
