Say hello to Wapello Elementary School's newest 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Darby Tackenberg! Mrs. Tackenberg is a graduate of Iowa State University and has taught for four years prior to joining the staff at Wapello Elementary.
Mrs. Tackenberg's family consists of her husband Jacob, and her daughter Reece. In her spare time, Mrs. Tackenberg enjoys baking, going on walks, reading, and exercising.
We are excited for Mrs. Tackenberg to join our staff and we know that her students will be just as excited to welcome her to Wapello and make her first year here a memorable one! Please help us to welcome Mrs. Tackenberg to the #WeAreWapello family!

Surplus Athletic Uniforms and Other Items…
We will be selling surplus uniforms/equipment on August 22nd from 6-7PM during “Back to School” night at the high school, in the cafeteria.
Two more opportunities will be during the home football game on September 2nd (versus LM) and September 16 (homecoming versus Pekin).
Items include boys and girls basketball uniforms from the mid 90s - early 2000s. Basketball shooting shirts, volleyball uniforms from the 90s-2000s, soccer apparel, golf bags, sports tumblers, and unsold tshirts. Everything will be priced extremely cheap!!!
There will be no holds and early sales will not be possible.
If you are new to the district or have never ridden the school bus but need to take advantage of bus service, please call the bus garage at 319-523-5561 or the Elementary School to arrange to have your child added to the bus route.

We would like to introduce our new staff that will be joining the #WeAreWapello team this fall. Our first new staff member that we would like to welcome is Mrs. Jennifer Swope. Mrs. Swope will be joining the staff this year as the Director of Bands. She has been busy working with our High School Band students already this summer during the 2022 Band Camp.
Mrs. Swope graduated from Iowa State University and comes to Wapello with six years of teaching experience in other districts. She is joined by her husband Tyler and and her children, Beau and Charlotte.
In her spare time, you can find Mrs. Swope spending time with her family. We are excited to welcome Mrs. Swope and her family to Wapello and are looking forward to her working with our students in the music program this year!

There will be a meeting on Monday, August 16th at 2PM at the WHS Library.
Students in grades 6-12 who applied last year and any student wanting to join are welcome! The focus of the meeting will be to plan Homecoming 2022!

Just a reminder…Tomorrow, In-Person Registration will be held at the WHS Practice Gym from 12:00-7:00 pm. Those that need assistance registering for school can receive assistance tomorrow. School Supplies will also be distributed thanks to the Chief Wapello Days Committee.
The Chief Wapello Days Committee will be giving away school supplies during In-Person Registration tomorrow at the WHS Practice Gym from 12:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. If your child is in need of school supplies, come to the practice gym to receive supplies that were collected by the Chief Wapello Days Committee in memory of Shelley and Dave Singleton.

The Wapello CSD Board of Directors will meet for their regular monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. Please note the later start time.
