Collins Aerospace issued a challenge to students to make a difference in someone's life. The challenge was accepted by this group of 8th grade girls, they developed a new prosthetic hand that could someday be used. Way to go girls!

Wapello Youth Soccer will be accepting Sign Up forms at Parent/Teacher Conferences tonight from 5-8. If you want to sign up your student for youth soccer, there will be someone outside the office at the Elementary and forms can be given to Mrs. Brown at the JH/HS.

Wapello will have a two hour delay today, February 20. No early dismissal.
Tonight is our Early Childhood Open House at Wapello Elementary. If you have or know of someone that will have a child that will be in Pre-Kindergarten or Kindergarten this fall, please plan on attending our Open House this evening to meet the teachers, tour the facilities and to learn more about our Early Childhood Programs that are available at Wapello Elementary.

March 2nd is Dr. Seuss’ birthday—Did you know Dr. Seuss would be 115 this year? While he is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the pages of his books. He forever changed the way children’s books were written and continues to inspire generations. So next Wapello Elementary will honor him with dress up days, activities, and reading our favorite Dr. Seuss books.

The visitation for Lucas Baker will be Saturday, February 23, 2019, from noon to 2:00 PM at the Solid Rock Baptist Church in Wapello, with a funeral ceremony to follow.

Wyatt Marlette was another winner for showing TRIBE PRIDE in Ms. Hazelwood’s classroom. He chose to bring in show and tell. Wyatt brought in his Star Wars droids that he can control with an app! It was very neat and the students enjoyed it!

The Junior High Indians will make up a previously postponed game against the Junior High Wolves of Winfield-Mt. Union on Thursday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. here at Wapello.

Elementary Parents: Lifetouch will be at Wapello Elementary on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 to do their spring portrait sessions. Each student will be photographed, but there is no obligation to purchase the portraits. If you do not care to purchase the portraits, simply return the package to your child's teacher after you have had a chance to look them over.
