¡Felicidades a la Snra. Dunham, a la Snra. Schlesing y a los estudiantes de ELL! Wapello’s first ever Día de los Muertos celebration was a huge hit! Great food, mariachi music by WHS band members and the Pecks, arts and crafts by the art students and Mrs. Gerot, sugar skulls by the elementary students, authentic decorations and an outstanding Day of the Dead altar. It was a wonderful night to learn about the culture and traditions of this beautiful Mexican holiday! Many thanks to these teachers and students that put in a lot of hard work and time to make this event possible. Congrats on a job very well-done! #wearewapello #nosotrossomoswapello #wapellotribepride

Students in Ms. Bostian’s English 10 class got to demonstrate their understanding in a unique way this week. The students finished the book “Night” by Elie Wiesel in which the author talks about his experiences with his father in the concentration camps of Nazi Germany. Students were asked to create a sculpture to demonstrate their understanding of the theme of the story or a particular event in the book. Here are a few of their creative projects. #wearewapello #wapellotribepride
