It is the last week of classes at WCSD! That's right, sing along... School's Out For Summer! That won't slow down our student athletes though! Baseball and Softball will be in full swing this week at the Junior High and High School levels. Make sure to download and check the Wapello CSD Mobile App on your smart device to stay up to date on schedules as there have been some changes to this week's HS Schedules. Only Softball will play on Monday, Baseball has been postponed. On Tuesday, both Baseball and Softball have been postponed due to State Golf for the boys, and Mediapolis Soccer for the Girls. The Junior High Indians and Arrows will travel to L-M High School tonight to open their Baseball and Softball seasons. The games will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the L-M High School Baseball/Softball Complex. Saturday marks the final day for 2022 IHSAA/IGHSAU State Track meet. The day will kick off at 9:00 am for the Wapello Arrows. 9:00 am - Girls Sprint Medley Relay (A. Boysen, M. Lanz, Q. Veach, S. Shafer) 10:30 am - Emily Hemphill in the 800 M Run 12:55 pm - Jake Gustison in the 100 M Dash 1:55 pm - Lindsy Massner in the 200 M Dash 3:25 pm - Girls 4x100 M Relay (A. Boysen, L. Massner, Q. Veach, S. Shafer) 3:40 pm - Boys 4x100 M Relay (T. Palmer, T. Parsons, M. Griffin, J. Gustison) All races on Saturday are finals! Good luck Indians and Arrows!

The third and final day of the IHSAA/IGHSAU has come to a close! The Indians & Arrows finished with a very successful day. Starting things off, the Arrow Sprint Medley relay finished with a time of 1:56.87. Then it was Emily Hemphill in the 800 m run. The sophomore finished at 2:35.18. Jake Gustison took to the track in the 100 m dash, finishing 6th at 11.15, followed by Lindsy Massner in the 200 m dash at 27.05. Wapello finished the day with the 4x100 relay. The boys finished 6th with a time of 44.17, and the Arrows finish as the IGHSAU State Runner-up in the 4x100 m relay with a time of 50.27.

If you plan on attending the class 1A State Golf on Monday and Tuesday, tickets went on sale today and you will need to purchase tickets on the Iowa High School Athletic Association website. Tickets are $10 for each Monday and Tuesday golf action. Wapello boys will be playing at the Ames Golf and CC.

We have completed Morning Marathon. Thank you to all that came out and participated. We did have a very cold and rainy start! Awards for those that completed the Marathon will be given out on the last day of school during their awards ceremony. No morning marathon today, May 20, 2022.
