Kenzie Alexis Davis is the daughter of Randy Jacks and Stephanie Davis. While in high school, Kenzie participated in choir and was a member of the National Honor Society. She recalls making memories with her friends and staying on top of her grades during her time at WHS. Ms. Bostian had the biggest impact on Kenzie because she was always there for her and always offered a helpful and listening ear to help Kenzie through many different things. Kenzie advises others to not procrastinate. Just get everything done and have free time later! If she were to be quoted in the yearbook, she would quote her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth the 2nd and say, "It is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change." After graduation, Kenzie will attend State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri to complete the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Congratulations, Kenzie!

Wandering around and most likely not in the correct class is where you could have found Logan Meeker during his time in high school! Logan is the son of Dustin Meeker, Melissa Meeker and Randy Yedlik. When he wasn’t wandering, Logan participated in cross country, soccer, track, and choir. He lists Mrs. Mairet, Mrs. Marshall, Mrs. Brown, and Ms. Eakins as his favorite teachers in high school because they always brightened his day and always had a positive attitude. Logan plans to attend Kirkwood Community College to study business and dental hygiene. He advises underclassmen, “Be yourself!” Good luck, Logan!

“Long story short, I survived.” Words of wisdom from senior Lillian Holmes. Lillian is the daughter of Adrienne Holmes and Thad Reimer. During high school, Lillian was involved in band, choir, drama, and art club. Lillian claims she spent most of high school telling Ms. Bostian all the drama. She also says Ms. B was her most influential teacher because she pushed Lillian to do better, even when she didn’t think she could. Lillian plans to attend DMACC for one year to study psychology and then transfer to Iowa State University. She leaves with this advice: “Don’t procrastinate your homework!” We wish you well, Lillian!

“Nothing in life is impossible as long as you take that first step!” - a quote that senior Montana Lee-Marie Boline has lived by the last four years at Wapello High School. Montana is the daughter of Harold and Traci Boline and has been very involved in sports and activities. She has participated in wrestling, football cheer, basketball, softball, volleyball, track, choir, drama, and FFA. Her activities have kept her busy, but she says that FFA has been her life and passion. Montana plans to continue her passion at Kirkwood Community College to study Agricultural Science to start her own swine production business, while also getting her teaching degree to become an ag teacher/advisor. Jane Bostian, Karin Mairet, and Tammi Edwards have been vital to Montana. She says, “They have made a big impact in my life through high school, if I ever had a problem they knew just the right thing to cheer me up. If I didn’t have them in my life I wouldn’t have been able to make choices and changes in the world.” Her advice to the underclassmen is “You create your own opportunities!” Best of Luck, Montana!

Cristian Tolentino’s time spent repairing Chromebooks at school, helped his success on the eSports team for three years. Soccer, FFA, and Spanish Club were activities you could find Mia Ramirez participating in during high school. Mia was also a member of the National Honor Society. Mia states she spent most of her time during high school “spilling tea” with her friends. Mrs. Humiston had the biggest influence on Mia during school because, “she is the best and always makes sure all her students understand how important and special they are to her. It means a lot and I will cherish the memories with her forever.” Mia is the daughter of Jose and Araceli Ramirez. She plans to attend Southeastern Community College for medical coding and billing. She shares this advice with underclassmen, “At the end of the day all you have left is memories so appreciate every moment and get involved in things you usually wouldn’t.” A quote Mia leaves us with is, “I have to be successful because I like expensive things!” Go be great, Mia!

Casey Parker Short, the son of Darren and Stephanie Short, spent most of his time at WHS studying, despite being very active in several extracurricular activities. Football, basketball, baseball, golf, and band kept Casey busy. He was also a member of the National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Casey advises fellow underclassmen, “to do as many activities in high school as you can. Don’t let anybody talk you out of doing something because it’s ‘not cool’ or ‘not fun’; don’t worry about what other people think of you. You’re only here for 4 years - have some fun.” Casey’s favorite teacher while in school was Mrs. Ungerer because she is the nicest person ever and always has a great attitude. She is always super happy to help you no matter how many questions you ask. Casey will be attending Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids to study construction management, but he leaves with his favorite quote from Coach Parsons, “DO YOUR JOB!” Best of luck to you, Casey!

“It doesn’t matter what others are doing, it matters what you are doing.” Wise words from senior Carley Maine to the underclassmen. While in high school, Carley participated in softball, football cheer, poms squad, volleyball, and band. While her high school and college classes have kept her busy, Carley says she has spent most of her time working and, of course, hanging out with her friends. Carley says that Mrs. Marshall is her most influential teacher because, “She is nothing but kind to everyone and is the smartest woman I know.” Carley is the daughter of Chris and Melinda Maine and plans to attend the University of Northern Iowa - Allen College for the Sonography program. Congratulations, Carley!
