Elementary parents and students: dress for the cool weather in the morning for the fire drills and fire truck rides. Coats, hats and gloves are advised.

More Dios de los Muertos preparations.




...and even more preparations for Dios de los Muertos.


The fifth graders learned about the Dias de Los Muertos (Nov 1-20 and some of the similarities and differences to Halloween (Oct.31). They then learned to make traditional sugar skulls and decorate them. It was a tasty art project.




Ms Hazelwood’s class doing experiment on mold forming on food in different environments. In the sun, in the shade, sugar on the food, salt on the food and licking the food, interesting results, any predictions?

Wapello FFA Livestock Judging Team traveled to Kirkwood community college to compete in the Livestock Judging Contest for high school students.
These 7th graders went along and competed.
Congratulations to Zach Harbison, Emily Hemphill, Jacie Hoeg and Ada Boysen for receiving 13th out 81 teams. These 7th graders competed against high school students and finished very respectuflly! Zach Harbison was 39th out 279 competitors, Rylan Moore was 51st overall, Jacie Hoeg was 59th overall and Emily Hemphill was 73rd overall. Rylan Moore, Codder Malcom and Jackson Lanz were 48th out 81 teams. Congratulations to all of our students on their accomplishment. The future of the Wapello FFA looks to remain very strong for years to come!
