Torrie Lucille Walker, daughter of Kurt and Katie Walker, advises other students to, “Be involved and work hard. It pays off.” Torrie has been active during her days at WHS, participating in cross country, basketball, soccer while also being a member of the National Honor Society, student council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and FCA.
Torrie identifies Mrs. Marshall as the most influential staff member during high school because she is always so positive and supportive when helping Torrie. She has learned so much from Mrs. Marshall, including math and how to be a better person in general.
Torrie will miss complaining to Ms. Eakins about college classes, but is looking forward to attending Southeastern Community College before transferring to a 4 year university to major in biochemistry.
Torrie’s yearbook quote would be, “Hold on, let me overthink about it first.” We wish you the best, Torrie!

Senior, Austin Meeker lives his life by a very simple idea: “Ain’t no need to know where I’m going, just need to know where I been!” --Tow Mater
Austin is the son of Tanya and Billy Stanford and has been very involved in several activities at WHS. Austin participated in basketball, wrestling, and baseball for two years. He is a three and half member of the choir and four year participant in the golf team and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Austin says that Mr. Peck has been his most influential staff member because “He was a mentor to me and one of my favorite teachers of all time.” Next year, Austin plans to attend the University of Northern Iowa to become a history teacher at the secondary level.

Madelyn Lanz, the youngest daughter of Robby and Kris Lanz, advises the underclassmen to “always treat others the way you want to be treated.” Words that she has always tried to uphold throughout her high school years.
Madelyn, or Madge as she’s more commonly known, has been busy the last four years. Madge is a member of the band, volleyball, basketball, and track teams. She also holds leadership positions in the National Honor Society and student council. Outside of school, Madge is actively involved in her church and bible class.
After graduation, Madge plans to attend Southeastern Community College to earn her Associates of Arts degree and then transfer to a four year university to major in elementary education. Madge claims that Mrs. Marshall made the biggest impact on her and helped her decide to become a teacher. Madge says, “[Mrs. Marshall] has taught me to be kind and patient while also earning the respect of her students. She is the type of teacher that I plan to become.”

Kaleb Huxley tells the underclassmen to “have fun everyday and go to as many events as possible!” Kaleb has taken his own advice as he can often be found in the front row of the student section at games and events.
While he’s not in the student section, Kaleb has been participating in several sports and activities at WHS. He participated in wrestling, quiz bowl, and WHS Student Council for one year and the eSports team for two years. He was a band member for three years and was a four year member of the football, track, and baseball teams.
Kaleb says that Ms. Eakins had the biggest impact on him because “she helps me with everything.”
Kaleb is the son of Mike Huxley and Sarah Huxley. A quote he lives by is “Be the Standard” and plans to continue his education at Iowa State University to study software engineering.

Kenzie Alexis Davis is the daughter of Randy Jacks and Stephanie Davis. While in high school, Kenzie participated in choir and was a member of the National Honor Society. She recalls making memories with her friends and staying on top of her grades during her time at WHS.
Ms. Bostian had the biggest impact on Kenzie because she was always there for her and always offered a helpful and listening ear to help Kenzie through many different things.
Kenzie advises others to not procrastinate. Just get everything done and have free time later! If she were to be quoted in the yearbook, she would quote her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth the 2nd and say, "It is often the small steps, not the giant leaps, that bring about the most lasting change."
After graduation, Kenzie will attend State Fair Community College in Sedalia, Missouri to complete the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.

Wandering around and most likely not in the correct class is where you could have found Logan Meeker during his time in high school! Logan is the son of Dustin Meeker, Melissa Meeker and Randy Yedlik.
When he wasn’t wandering, Logan participated in cross country, soccer, track, and choir. He lists Mrs. Mairet, Mrs. Marshall, Mrs. Brown, and Ms. Eakins as his favorite teachers in high school because they always brightened his day and always had a positive attitude.
Logan plans to attend Kirkwood Community College to study business and dental hygiene. He advises underclassmen, “Be yourself!”

“Long story short, I survived.” Words of wisdom from senior Lillian Holmes. Lillian is the daughter of Adrienne Holmes and Thad Reimer. During high school, Lillian was involved in band, choir, drama, and art club.
Lillian claims she spent most of high school telling Ms. Bostian all the drama. She also says Ms. B was her most influential teacher because she pushed Lillian to do better, even when she didn’t think she could.
Lillian plans to attend DMACC for one year to study psychology and then transfer to Iowa State University. She leaves with this advice: “Don’t procrastinate your homework!”
